everything you need to know about reed diffusers

our philosophy at chloé + crown is to always keep our products as natural as possible, so it's no surprise that our room fresheners are made up of three ingredients:

• locally sourced, natural fragrance oils
• organic carriers oils made from either almond oil or other natural oils
• locally and responsibility sourced, unbleached rattan reeds

reed diffusers are a popular and practical way to add constant fragrance to any room, without the use of heat, flame, or electricity. moreover, reed diffusers deliver fragrance using a simple wick system: fragrance oil seeps up through reeds or sticks, dispersing scent into the air.

rattan reeds vs bamboo sticks

although they may look similar to bamboo skewers, our reeds are made of premium-quality rattan. bamboo chutes have nodes that block the travel of oils, and are ineffective at wicking the fragrance. our high-quality rattan reeds contain “channels” that run along the entire length of the reed and suck the oil up to the top. the scent is naturally and evenly dispersed into the air through evaporation – without the use of flame, heat, or electricity!

benefits of reed diffusers

reed diffusers will give you a scent that’s more consistent and less overpowering than candles or incense (which only release scent when lit).

a reed diffuser will continue to release scent for the lifespan of the reeds and fragrance oil. there are no parts to turn on, light up, plug in, blow out, or spray, and the safety factor can’t be beat!

there’s not a flame nor heat to potentially cause damage – making it a safe alternative to candles (which should never be left unattended). there’s no wax, no soot (from paraffin candles), nor ashes (from incense sticks) to clean up. for those with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions, there’s no smoke nor aerosols to trigger reactions.

long-lasting scent

with 5 ounces of fragrance oil in each bottle, the scent of our reed diffusers can last for 3 to 4 months. chloé + crown reed diffusers come vacuum sealed with the solution already pre-mixed. it also included 10 rattan reeds, so you can control the intensity of the scent -- we recommend starting with 6 rattan reeds and adding more when needed. by changing the number of reeds used, or flipping them in the bottle, you can adjust how much fragrance is released at a time and easily refresh the room with a stronger fragrance.
